Description

Cars don’t come much cooler than this Alpina E28 B10 3.5l!

One of the very first E28 B10 Alpina’s in the UK being number 4 of 479.

At this time Alpina’s started life as ordinary BMW’s supplied through the Sytner group in Leicester and Nottingham.  At the point of order placement, Aplina would send to Sytner the new engine, Bilstein suspension, bigger brakes and badging for the standard 5 series to be transformed into an Alpina.  The engine is a reworked M30 as found in a 535i. But it was far from a standard engine, Alpina fitting a new cylinder head, cam, exhaust and Mahle pistons to achieve 261hp, with torque rated at 254lb ft.

This particular car is well known in BMW Alpina circles and was subject to an extensive body and mechanical restoration whilst retaining the interior’s period patina. Such was the high standard of restoration that it went on to win a multitude of BMW Concours events. After one such win, the car was selected for display at the Meguiars Showcase at the 2009 NEC Classic Motor Show. This was a very rare honour and open only to selected winners of their respective marque national shows of the year.
