A very original RHD matching numbers and exceptionally well maintained fibreglass 308 GTB, with the rare dry sump engine. It has covered a well documented 37,500 miles from new. Originally ordered by Grassicks of Perth, it comes with copies of all correspondence between Grassicks (order number F009) to Maranello and their correspondence with Ferrari Modena, including Ferrari confirmation 29/10/75 and delivery note from Maranello to Grassicks Garage. Finally the delivery note and invoice from Grassicks to the first owner.
The car also has its original owner’s warranty card and service book complete with its original guarantee in the correct Ferrari leather wallet. It also has the correct early 308 jack kit.
In addition to the above, a large history file comes with the car. All owners are recorded, together with all service invoices and relevant MOT’s etc. The car has never undergone a complete strip-down restoration and is in its original giallo fly paintwork which has had some refreshing over the years, where necessary. The interior is original even down to its original carpet and is in excellent condition. Unusually, both the front grained-leathercloth spare wheel cover and rear luggage compartment cover are both original (these have been replaced almost invariably on early 308 cars with later incorrect non-grained leatherette).
Less than 150 fibreglass RHD 308’s were made out of a total of 740 fibreglass cars. Probably only approximately 110 RHD dry sump fibreglass cars were made. Very few of these have survived in such unmolested condition. This is a car that has benefitted from limited use and careful ownership. Recent service work has been carried out by Foskers Engineering of Brands Hatch and Shiltech of Loughborough. Either one of these companies can be approached for a confirmation of both condition and originality.
