This Series 3 V12 FHC’s body and underside is in pristine condition and mechanically the car is a revelation.
Owned and cared for by its present owner for 30 years (a respected Motor engineer and owner of a highly respected garage with 30 years’ experience).
The car had 22,000 miles on the clock when the present owner purchased the car in 1992 and the history includes Mots from 1991 forward.
The car was purchased because of its low mileage and condition but the original exterior colour of light blue had some micro blistering.
Between 1992 and 2000 the car covered less than 400 miles due to the owner’s busy work schedule.
Between 2001 and 2002 the car underwent a full bare metal professional repaint in Silver. The work included a bare metal repaint to both inner and outer panels. With the engine removed, it was stripped and rebuilt. The suspension was given uprated front and rear anti roll bars, and new rear coil springs and shock absorbers.
The interior was retrimmed in its original colour of blue, completing a comprehensive preservation and improvement of this remarkable V12 FHC.
When finished the car won ‘Best in Competition’ at the international E-type Concours and became eligible for the most prestigious Concours at the NEC where it achieved 2nd place.
There is a comprehensive folder of invoices and photographs to support the repaint and mechanical overhaul. The car has been serviced and maintained every 2500 miles by the owner and a letter will be issued covering the continuous servicing the car has received.
From 2001, the car was used for continental touring in the USA, New Zealand, and South Africa. The car has proved to be totally reliable and drives and looks as good as new.
