Description

1996 and the last production year for the more agile short wheelbase Bentley Turbo. Having had the privilege of driving both a short wheelbase R and the long wheelbase RT, there is a noticeable difference in agility, and perhaps more surprising the R feels more urgent on the road.

0-60 in just over 6 seconds and a factory claimed 150mph, was astonishing in 1996 and remains impressive today.

What amazes, is how these Bentley’s handle and stop, they are so much fun to make ā€˜progress’ in.

This Peacock Blue Bentley Turbo R is an unmolested example, with just two owners from new, and the 2nd owner having the joy of owning the car for most of its life.

In 2001, the owner moved to the Isle of Man, where he and the car resided upto his passing.

In 2024 his son brought the car back to the England, and with too many cars of his own, contacted Cariconics Ltd.

*Unfortunately, the service history for the car during its time in the Isle of Man could not be found, however, such was the owners love of the car, and his past zealousness in keeping the car in top condition, his son was confident that the car would have wanted for little.

Cariconics Ltd purchased the car and sent it Bentley Solutions in Kibworth Leicestershire for a service, to include front and rear brake pads and the replacement of the rear gas spheres.

The car is now ready for its next custodian, and we just hope that it is with a passionate and considerate owner.
